SKIN CARE AND ENHANCEMENT SERVICES FOR EVERYONE
Microdermabrasion is often used interchangeably with chemical peels. It is an in-office procedure performed by our medical aesthetician. The process exfoliates the skin using a special wand like handpiece. The aesthetician passes the handpiece over the skin, delivering tiny aluminum oxide crystals at a high velocity. The crystals are simultaneously vacuumed away with the same wand, taking the outermost layer of dead skin cells with it. The pressure can be varied to control the amount of penetration, and the number of passes varies with the skin texture and sensitivity. It is useful in improving rough skin texture, some mild scarring, uneven pigmentation, superficial brown spots and fine wrinkles. It can be safely used with most skin types, and requires little or no downtime. A typical regimen consists of a series of 5-10 treatments at intervals ranging from 1 to 4 weeks apart. Microdermabrasion treatment is most effective combined with a PSG Signature Facial.

A chemical peel involves the application of one or more exfoliating agents to the skin, causing a controlled destruction of portions of the epidermis and/or dermis. The strength of the peel and the present state of the skin dictate the degree of trauma to the skin layers, which further leads to subsequent regeneration of new epidermal and dermal (collagen) tissues. The specific peeling agent is chosen based upon each patient’s skin type and the conditions that need to be addressed.
Microdermabrasion and Chemical peels require an initial consult and facial to clean the skin and prepare it for the treatment. A thorough examination of your skin, along with a care and treatment history will be taken to determine any contraindications for the treatment. An example of a contraindication is the use of Accutane, which should be discontinued for a period of 12-18 months prior to chemical peels or microdermabrasion. Another consideration is the pigmentation of the skin. Darker skin may pose an increased risk of skin pigmentation changes.
Occasionally there is a need for medication pre-treatment as in the case of patients who are susceptible to cold sores. In that case, a prophylactic course of acyclovir will minimize the possibility of a post-treatment herpes simplex outbreak. A home care prep program will be prescribed both as a pre and post-treatment program. You will be asked to limit your sun exposure for at least a month before chemical peeling, and to refrain from shaving or waxing for several days or weeks.

SKIN CARE SERVICES:
Every skin is different, and changes constantly with the climate, change of diet, lifestyle, hormones, stress and the aging process. For this reason, every facial is custom designed at each visit to deep-cleanse, exfoliate, hydrate and purify your skin. Special massage techniques enhance the circulation, providing the cells with nutrients, and facilitating the removal of toxins via the lymphatic system. The PSG Signature Facial includes surface and deep cleansing, exfoliation, face, neck, decollete’, hand and arm massage as well as a masque or compress. $100
Impure skin can occur anywhere from the onset of adolescence to adulthood. The earlier the condition is addressed, the better the chances for success. Young teens often have blackheads and non-inflammatory clogged pores, and if left untreated, the condition will often escalate to inflammatory acne. By treating the skin early, providing chemical and/or physical exfoliation, properly expressing the clogged portions of the skin and providing an antiseptic deep cleansing home treatment, the condition can often be controlled until they grow out of it. Of course we are always willing to work in conjunction with a Dermatologist prescribed program if medical intervention is necessary.
Adult onset acne is treated differently from teen acne, because it often goes hand and hand with thickened, aging, dehydrated skin, is usually more hormonally influenced, and less likely to be accompanied by oily skin.
A consultation and facial treatment is the first step toward addressing any acne condition. Since all of our facials are individually designed, simply make an appointment for a PSG Signature Facial, and your particular needs will be addressed during your treatment. $100
This exclusive facial combines the benefits of a clinical facial with the best of European luxury spa treatments. Featuring the exclusive top of the line treatment products from La Biosthetique, the facial starts with a light cleansing massage and a warm compress of specially selected essential oils to calm or stimulate your skin according to your needs. An essential oil hand and arm massage follows, and your hands are placed in warm mitts to penetrate the moisturizing treatments. Exfoliation and a deep cleansing treatment is next, followed by a relaxing effleurage massage of the face, neck, décolleté, shoulders and scalp. The treatment concludes with the exclusive Masque Mer et Beaute, a hydrating and lifting modeling masque based upon algae and sea water, and infused with essential oils. The Royal Facial is appropriate for all skin types except acne. $150
