Facial Procedures

As individuals age, their bodies gradually stop producing the proteins collagen and elastin. These proteins are essential for healthy, elastic skin. Without a sufficient amount of collagen and elastin, the skin loses its elasticity and starts to sag. In addition, over time, fat becomes displaced and muscle tone is lost. These factors can lead to visible signs of aging on the face, including wrinkles, creases, folds, drooping eyelids, a hanging brow line, skin that hangs off the jaw or neckline and hollow-looking areas.Although this may sound bleak, the good news is that the board-certified New Jersey plastic surgeons at the Plastic Surgery Group can help. They offer a variety of facial cosmetic surgery and nonsurgical procedures designed to improve noticeable signs of aging and bring a sense of balance to facial features, for a more youthful, harmonious facial appearance. To learn more about our specific facial procedures, please click on the links below.

Facial Cosmetic Surgery

Facelift. We offer several approaches to facelift surgery, including deep-plane facelift, mid-face lift and SMAS lift, among others. Each approach is designed to eliminate excess skin, redistribute displaced fat and repair underlying tissue structures for a more youthful appearance.

Eyelid Surgery. Blepharoplasty, or eyelid surgery, is an effective way to remove excess skin and fat from the upper eyelids, the lower eyelids or both, resulting in a more rejuvenated look throughout the eyes.

Forehead Lift. With forehead lift, we can raise the brow line and smooth forehead furrows, so patients look refreshed and happy.

Chin Surgery. Chin surgery may include liposuction of the chin area, dermal fillers and / or an implantable prosthetic to define the chin area and provide a sense of harmony to facial features.

Neck Lift. With neck lift surgery, the plastic surgeon removes sagging skin and excess fat and repairs the underlying musculature, as needed. Patients achieve a smoother, tighter neck contour, for a more youthful look throughout the neck area.

Rhinoplasty. With nose surgery, or rhinoplasty, the board-certified plastic surgeon can improve the size, shape or asymmetry of the nose, bringing a sense of balance to the rest of the patient’s facial features. Rhinoplasty can also be used to correct structural issues that often cause chronic breathing problems, such as a deviated septum.

Nonsurgical Cosmetic Treatments for the Face

BOTOX (Botulinum Toxin). When injected, BOTOX muscle relaxant temporarily suspends muscle movement in the treatment area, thereby smoothing out the overlying wrinkles.

Injectable Dermal Fillers. Injectable dermal fillers, including Juvéderm, are used to restore fullness to areas of the face that lack volume, as well as to fill in fine lines and wrinkles.

Lip Enhancement. Certain dermal fillers, including Restylane, can be used to enhance the volume of the lips, for a more feminine appearance.

Ultherapy. This nonsurgical treatment uses radiofrequency energy to tighten the skin and activate the body’s production of collagen, a protein that is essential for healthy, supple skin.

Skincare Services. Our medical spa offers a range of nonsurgical skincare services, including intense pulsed light (IPL) therapy and laser treatments, to help patients achieve glowing skin with an even tone and texture.
